I stopped by and watched Transformers 2 at the IMAX theatre and here are a few of my thoughts. Here are a few shots from the movie that I took.
- Gratuitous sexuality (do transformers really hump legs or have sex organs?)
- Very tight shots and difficult to visually process
- not optimized for IMAX and thus blurry
- Extremely unrealistic so far as “hiding in plain sight”
- Felt all 2 hours 30 mins of it
- I won’t buy it on DVD
What Do You Think?

Conservatism must have changed of late. I thought it used to honor property rights, such as copyright. As a copyright holder myself, I'm disgusted at the blatant pirating of a film.
I'll tell you what….if you can find me the law the prohibits me putting this on here then I will take it down. As such, I don't know of any laws that I'm breaking.
Hmmm… skipped over the word “honor” – gotta be a law… Well, law is just part of it. You could be OK if you got permission or if it was “fair use”. If none of those, then it is up to the copyright owner to follow-up on their rights. You-Tube has their policy, but it takes the owner to ask for enforcement. The MPAA has an easy form to fill out reporting infringement, but then they need to follow up on it.
If you're just curious about the law, you could always do a search – there have been cases of enforcement. YouTube also has a page spelling out their policy.
But again, what I find interesting is how easily crossed the line is between a philosophy of “I should be able to keep what I worked for” and “I should be able to keep anything I can take.”
