Responsibility And Knowing Who To Blame And Who To Shame

in Ideals, Socialized Anything

Obama said at a press conference at the G-20 with Prime Minister Gordon Brown that the United States is responsible to help increase the standards of living of countries around the world.  Consider his words,

“I am a big believer in global capital markets and their potential to provide capital to countries that might not otherwise be able to grow, the possibilities of increasing living standards in ways that we have not seen previously in world history.”

Can you not hear Democrats saying that we should spend (tax) more to help those who would “otherwise” not be able to _______(pick any noun). Obama has declared that it is his policy to not only provide for the general “welfare” of every American and resident of the United States but also for countries that need a better standard of living? Why does he think that America or ANY OTHER COUNTRY has the responsibility or even mandate to create a better or higher standard of living for any country that is not under its care? OH, THAT’S RIGHT, he got the idea from a professor AND NOT REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE. Listen to this,

“I had a professor when I was in law school who said some are to blame but all are responsible. And I think that’s the best way for us to approach the problem that we have right now.”

What?

How am I or America responsible for someone else’s actions or lack of action when I am not directly or indirectly responsible for that action? How am I responsible or did I somehow cause the heinous crime of rape? [Apparently I am.]  How am I responsible or did I somehow cause my fellow man to default on his mortgage? [Apparently I am.] How am I responsible or did I somehow cause someone to commit the crimes of arson, grand theft auto, perjury, or even murder? Isn’t responsibility based on proximity to an action or result leading to or following an action?  Then how am I or America responsible for a standard of living we did not create or have the responsibility to fix?

Obama is attempting to sacrifice our sovereignty on the altar of his ego with the farce of responsibility! Does he believe that all countries and all inhabitants therein should directly experience the American dream? Does he believe that all people groups should have the same opportunities to directly experience the wealth that is produced in America? Does he believe that all people groups should receive the same health care as he would like for Americans to receive, that is, free?  But it is not only this. Obama wants to enter into agreements with other countries that will strip us of our sovereignty. How does it strip us of our sovereignty?

Remember Barney Frank’s comment about exercising the Federal Government’s ownership rights on AIG because it received money from the “tax payer?”  What do you think is going to happen when Obama throws the American Tax Payer’s money into a big pot with other world leaders? Don’t you think that America’s interest in protecting the rights of its citizens will be trumped in the interest of global leaders’ interests?  If the UN or some other global governing body determines that it is in the best interest of the global economy that all nations have state mandated health care or salary caps then what do you think that means for America? If a global governing body determines that the rights of a child should trump the rights of the parent to rear that child then what do you think is going to happen here in America?  If a global governing body determines that the rights of a particular people group should trump the rights of another because of misdeeds in a foreign land then what do you think is going to happen here in America?

Obama told America that he was going to steal from the rich and give the poor what was rightfully theirs.  And they believed him. He told America that a big government was the best way to ensure that not only money from high taxes would be distributed appropriately but also that the rights of man would be distributed from those whom had too many rights to those that did not have freedom and rights. I don’t know if Thomas Jefferson said it but the truth has certainly come to pass,

“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.”

This “responsibility” of Obama’s, some would say, is not about taking the blame for someone’s action but to take the responsibility to help solve the problem that that action created.  If there is a homeless man in the ditch then take the responsibility and lift him up. If there is a need to paint the local community then take the responsibility to pick up a paint bucket and paint brush and do something about it. Yes, it is certainly a fine way to look at Obama’s statement but to those who love freedom and the right to life, it is a very dangerous statement.

Like socialism, Obama feels that blame should never be addressed but only that everyone should share in its consequences.  If a child gets pregnant then America should flip the bill for the abortion(s). If that new born is survives after the abortion then America should force that doctor to kill that baby because that mother demands it.  If that same child suffers post abortion fatigue and distress then America should flip the bill for her mental treatment. If too many people make bad financial decisions then America should flip the bill to wipe out there financial commitment(s) without limitations. Is there anything that America should not pay for or share the blame of another bad choices?  What about other countries’ problems. Obama already is funding international abortions with the American taxes.

The poor want the rich to be heavily taxed. But the problem is that the word poor is relative. It wasn’t too long ago that the current minimum wage ($7.25) was a good amount to bring home for a day’s work in this country.  The poor in our country are quite rich to those in Africa who are suffering from AIDS. What will the poor say when Obama describes the poor as blessed. What will the poor say when Obama says that the money of the working poor should be distributed to the poor in another country where jobs don’t exist like they do in the United States?

Those that voted for Obama thought that he loved them. But they will soon find out that love and commitment come with a price that we can never pay because the man who said, “I love you” meant “I love you till I decide that there is another that needs my attention.”
