Remember when Kanye West said, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” because he thought that the people affected by Katrina were not helped as quickly as he thought they should have been helped? I’m sorry, I thought that ample warning was given to the state and up to the point a federal disaster is determined by the White House it is the responsibility of the State to do it’s part in protecting its inhabitants? Am I wrong in this or should we just do away with States and call it: Used to Be States of America?
I’m attempted to go on a rant about the hypocrisy of the Democrats blaming the President of the United States for the irresponsibility of a State’s inhabitants and the State Government. For that matter, what about blaming Bush for the stockmarket before Obama and then not say anything when the DOW tanks everytime Obama opens his mouth. I COULD JUST . ..UG!!!!! But that would be futile.
However, if Bush didn’t like black people because he didn’t do something that he wasn’t responsible for then I don’t know what else we could say about Obama. Shouldn’t Obama be the one responsibile for the actions of the DOW? That may be debatable but what isn’t is his desire to eliminate the income of those who make over $250,000.00? Throughout his campaign he has belittled the affluent who legally protect their wealth through producing and use what is available to them via tax laws.
Isn’t part of the American Dream about having the freedom to make as much money as you can possibly make without treading on another’s rights? I need to make an amendment to my thought on making boo-koos money. America offers someone the freedom to make as much or as little as they would like. If you want to make a lot of money all at once and hang out on the beach then you can do that. If you want to work, work, work for the mighty greenback and then leave it all for your family because of your death from work-oholism, then have at it!
But Obama must have it out for the Rich. Take a look at these quotes from his budget that I found in the article: Taxes Will Test Obama’s Support Among the Wealthy By Gerald F. Seib
“With loosened oversight and weak enforcement from Washington, too many cut corners as they racked up record profits and paid themselves millions of dollars in compensation and bonuses. There’s nothing wrong with making money, but there is something wrong when we allow the playing field to be tilted so far in the favor of so few.”
“For the better part of three decades, a disproportionate share of the Nation’s wealth has been accumulated by the very wealthy….Yet, instead of using the tax code to lessen these increasing wage disparities, changes in the tax code over the past eight years exacerbated them.”
The premise here is that there should not be any rich people. To make sure there are none, Obama is going to create a tax code that penalizes the “wealthy” because the money is not a “Right” if you earn it. He makes this very clear with the phrase, “a disproportionate share of the Nation’s wealth has been accumulated by the very wealthy.” OBAMA THINKS THAT AN INCOME FROM YOUR WORK IS NOT A RIGHT BUT AN OPPORTUNITY (AT THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT) TO RECIEVE A PORTION OF THE GOVERNMENT’S MONEY. If the Fed thinks that you are making too much then they will take it from you in the from of taxes.
Obama writes, “something wrong when we allow the playing field to be tilted so far in the favor of so few”
I GOT SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS:
- There is something wrong when “the Federal Government” allows the playing field to be tilted?
- What right does the Federal Government have to control the flow of income to those who have lawfully earned it?
- What right does the Federel Government to tell me how much someone’s value to a company is worth?
- What right does the Federal Government have to penalize someone who makes a lot of money because a portion of society doesn’t make the same?
- What right does the Federal Government have to tell me how much money I should be making?
- What right does the Federal Government have to ASSUME that it produces anything and thus gets an income from it?
The problem with Obama is that instead of making the field level by lifting everyone up they are leveling the field by trying to make us all employees (servants) of the Government. Some rich person must have hurt Obama pretty badly for him to go after all of them. Just like in the movie Gladiatorwhere Commodus throws bread to the masses to win them over, Obama is throwing the masses the bread of the rich man’s labor.
*Does anyone have any answers to my questions?

I just think that the whole idea of capitalism sucks bigtime, and Obama looks for money trying to solve the current crisis by taxing those who have the money to be taxed, and not those who don’t. This is quite fair and is called JUSTICE. There’s nothing wrong with making money, but those who have the most cash are generally the most greedy ones. And the country with almost no privacy laws should allow that the wealth of the rich stays private? There’s no bigger contradiction possible! The worldwide crisis started in the USA and affected the whole world, so the USA is definately to blame first and we, Europeans, are feeling the consequences each day. But Europe is NOT capitalistic and will win this crisis without a doubt before the USA will! Thanks to the greedy rich people in your country.
In Europe you are punished by court if you have an account in Switserland or other tax-paradise so your money is safe from being taxed in your own country. In the USA people mostly make tonns of money in an unconventional way. Liberty? Not in my opinion. It’s this kind of injustice that creates an everlasting growing gap between the rich and the poor. Obama says that ALL of you Americans must take their responibility so you could solve the crisis together. Defending the rich in order to avoid them being taxed is unresponsible. America has the biggest debt in the whole world, there is a real need for money to pay off these debts and to solve the crisis. Where will he get the money from? Obviously from those who have plenty of cash, and easilly can lose some dollars for the benefit of your country without going bankrupt! He is fortunately smart enough to realise that he can’t get money from people who have none. So what’s wrong with that? The government has the right to know what fortune everybody owns, where it comes from and if it’s earned legally, just like in Europe every citizen must fill in their yearly tax-letter to let the government know what they have earned last year and to justify where their money comes from, so the government can tax people the way it should. Higher taxes for the rich, registration and justification of your income, favoring the poor and offering them help instead of taxing them is nothing but justice and European common sense. Get rid of the current capitalism, it’s the main cause of all the troubles in the USA and it’s evil!
Its not called justice its called stealing. Generally the rich folks are hard workers with huge aspirations and passion, while on the other hand poor people just complains and expects others to bring money to them and reward their lack of everything (effort, dreams, common sense). So shut up you evil communist
This is stupid. I'm sick of people saying Obama hates rich people. Barack Obama makes like 2 million dollars a year on his book royalties alone, not to mention what he gets paid as a politician. He's extremely rich. Why would he hate rich people?
And I'm sick of people saying he's a socialist! The only reason people believe that is because his quotes are taken out of context. I could do the exact same thing with McCain or Palin. Like one time Palin said, “The Federal government should act as an effective CEO of corporations.” This sounds socialist to me, and if i wanted to I could completely take it out of context and make her seem to be a communist pig (with lipstick lol).
Granted, Obama is somewhat of a socialist for bailing out these failing corporations, but all politicians these days are somewhat socialist except for Ron Paul. And yeah I don't like that all the politicians are trying to regulate the market and pass more laws for victimless crimes, but we need to be thankful for what we have. America is still the freest country with the freest market.
yes obama has made some mucho money but to say that he can’t hate rich people b/c he’s rich would be like saying that dictators don’t hate rich and powerful citizens b/c the dictator is rich and powerful. Obama hates the rich because a rich “class” that welcomes anybody can only exist in a capitalist economy. Obama wants a stronger government through socialist programs. Therefore, if there is a free rich class then there cannot be a “socialist” government.
OK… here’s the deal. It is STEALING. I’m not rich, nor am I poor. I respect those who have made the money they have because they earned it. They deserve it. I don’t think I deserve anything I didn’t earn. If poor people are poor, they made that choice. This is America, the land of opportunity. If you don’t like where you are, you’re free to get out! You know how many North Koreans would love to get the hell out of North Korea?! They could be dirt poor in America and be happy than be ruled by that tyrant!
We live in a “ME” society where people think they deserve something for nothing. Is that why we give awards to children for being alive?! I think the only thing we should get a certificate for is Birth and Death. Other than that, everything in between needs to be earned!
Welfare… consider this pride but I will not allow myself to STAY in welfare if I came to the point where I needed it. It’s supposed to be a financial tool to help people back on their feet, but lazy people are content to be where they are and are probably the very ones that are in favor of Obama taking money from the Rich. Screw that! Leave rich people alone!
there is something very important and sacred about the freedom to industry and make yourself and your family happy in the way that you see that life to be.
