I was so excited to see my Govenor, Gov. Sonny Perdue give Obama “the hand” during during his Fiscal Responsibility Summit. (Granted I’m sure Sonny didn’t do this on purpose. He’s a nice southern guy) Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Bobby Jindal of Louisiana have suggested that they are not going to accept the stimulus money because of the strings that are attached to the bill. Obama also stated that just because a few GOP Governors don’t like 2% of the bill doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t do what is right for the American People. WELL, I GOT A QUESTION OR THREE:
- Would you suggest that I not meet with someone who hits me in the face 2 out of every 100 times I come face to face with them?
- Should I do business with a bank who short changes me $2 out of every $100 of my money?
- Should I drink a glass of water that has only 2% arsenic in it?
The governor is elected by the people of that particular state to represent their best interests and NOT THE INTERESTS OF SOME OTHER STATE. If a few governors feel that taking the money isn’t in the best interests of their state then why should they take it? Here’s a poignant question:
If there were 100 ropes tied to 98 boxes that had a $1000.00 bill in each but two of those ropes were tied to something that will kill you. Would you play the game? Better yet is that in this game you have to grab all the ropes.
Obama needs to step off his high horse and stop trying to take control of every fiscally responsible tax payer and fiscally responsible state. In fact, he should like the fact that there are a few states that don’t want AMERICAN TAXPAYER’S money. If those states fail then Obama can say, “See I told you I was right.” But no, he wants every American State to grab hold of all those ropes. I hope more and more govenors stand up and just walk away.
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE GOVERNORS SHOULD DO?

Sonny Perdue is a scumbag and a liar. His state is sitting on $1 Billion dollars of highway money and telling the GADOT to do nothing all the while laying people off and hammering them in the press for not doing their jobs. Sonny can get bent for all I care.
The governors should debate with him. He needs to explain his plan in fine detail and listen to their concerns that the plan is a poison pill. If his answers prove persuasive, then accept. That way his methods and competence will be exposed.
We have to respectfully expose his policies and what affect they will have on American Citizens and the American Tax Payer.
Our Governor, Bob Riley, has stated that he would not take some of the money, especially the money associated with the unemployment program. I for one am glad that he is looking out for the State of Alabama. The governor was elected to represent the people of Alabama and I think that is exactly what he is doing by refusing to take money with strings attached. According to him after 3 years the money
would run out and then our state would be responsible for coming up with the additional funding. I think this is what got our economy in
trouble, spending money that you don’t have . Cudos to our governor
and all other fiscal responsible leaders. At least, we have them at the
local level. Just imagine our country if we had more leaders like them
at the national level. Just imagine!!!!!!
The President is like anyone other citizen in this Union. He’s not perfect and he is voted in to protect the nation, not dable his hands in every states business. More reps, gov, and every other public servant needs to vote with their actions and words (even though) we may not have the votes. Stand up public servants and do what is right!!!!!
SONNY PURDUE IS ONE OF THE BEST GOVERNORS GEORGIA HAS HAD IN A LONG TIME.
GOD BLESS HIM !
Sonny Perdue is not the best Goveror Georgians have had. That title belongs to Governor George Busbee , thank you very much. Perdue does not give a flip about Ga this is his last dance and if he cared he would worry about what is going on in our citties and the hardships we are enduring now; not in the future ,evidently he has never heard of taking care of today for tomorrow will take care of itself. I have grandchilren and I am concern about their future but the future is not here and the economy will be better. We have people who truly love this country and we are a strong nation who has never waivered. We need the help that President Obama is offering so that we can survive and not plunge deeper into a recession. Our grandchildren will look upon us one day and ask why? Why didn’t the Governor of Georgia want our state to benefit during a time of crisis?
My question is where is the line between the those in the state become the ward of the state and personal responsibility for ones failure and success occur.
SONNY SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING ,WHICH IS NOT THINKING ABOUT HIMSELF, BUT THINKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF GA.. ACCEPT THE FUNDS…
Sonny Perdue and rest of his POLITICAL GRAND-STANDING ILK, should feel like a bunch of jerks right now and so should the lemming who cheered them on in Feb. It’s pretty funny after the fact, since now we know the he came right back in late March and ACCEPTED ALL THE STIMULUS MONEY! … ooooh the truth hurts so good!
